Selectmen's Minutes - January 5, 1993
January 5, 1993         Present:  James R. Haggerty

Mr. Haggerty announced that he extended the Board's condolences on the deaths of Carolyn Ready and Carl Baresel.  Mrs. Ready a former employee of the school and Mr. Baresel a former elected official.  

He read a letter of resignation from Mike Joyce as the Town's representative to So. Shore Vocational School effective 1/11/93.  Motion by Judy Murdoch, 2nd by Crowley to accept.  4-0.  It was noted that the Board is seeking applications for a representative to So. Shore Voke Ed.

Chairman read the decision from the ABCC concerning Pina, Inc. which sustained the decision of the board allowing the 30 day suspension.  Motion by Frisoli to accept the decision of the ABCC, 2nd Crowley, 4-0 vote.  Motion by Crowley, 2nd Frisoli to make the suspension effective immediately as of one minute past midnight, 1/6/93 and would run through 2/5/93.  4-0 vote.

Motion by Crowley, 2nd Frisoli to open the warrant for the May Annual Town Meeting.  It was noted that the warrant would close on March 2.  Motion by Crowley, 2nd Frisoli to approve the automatic amusement device license on Pina, Inc. 4-0.

Motion by Crowley, 2nd Frisoli to grant Class II license to
Burton Raphel, 507 Monponsett St. 4-0

Motion by Crowley, 2nd Frisoli to grant Class III license to Ken's BP-Mangano 4-0

Board signed New England Telephone Easement on Maquan St. as they had voted it in the past.  

Exec. Secretary reported and read a letter from the Chief regarding the Street Light issue.  

Read the letter from the Recreation Commission regarding the waiving of fees for the renovations at Camp Kiwanee. The Board has asked that a representative from the Camp appear next week and that the Building Inspector be present.  

Board signed award for Edward O'Brien, Eagle Scout and declared the 29th of December, Edward O'Brien day.  Motion by Murdoch, 2nd Crowley, 4-0 vote.  Mr. O'Brien will appear before the Board to have the certificate presented to him.

Board entered exec. session under #3, negotiations and litagation, Motion by Joseph Frisoli and 2nd Crowley.  4-0 roll call vote.

Mrs. Murdoch moved, 2nd Frisoli to adjourn.  10:15 p.m.
